Overall Dimensions: 56" x 16" x 28 (W x D x H) We are delighted to offer this fabulous vintage British made mirrored dressing table desk. Mid 20th Century modern period piece made by premium furniture makers Meredew Furniture, Letchworth Garden City, England. This adjustable mirror dressing table in a stunning Danish inspired design.

Simple clean design in warm amber gold tones. Of solid & veneer teak woods. It has a four good size drawers in a two stack arrangement. Each draw has a stylish recess & roundel shaped teak wood pull handle. Small mantel shelf detail at the back.

The large adjustable angle mirror is mounted in a slender curved teak wood frame. The mirror adjust action & drawer runners all function well. This piece is vintage so has one or two very minor age related surface marks & minor dinks which all adds to it's vintage charm.

It's been properly cleaned, teak oiled & so is now ready to love, use & enjoy. It's style is directly influenced by the Danish Scandinavian designs of the same period & the likes of Gplan & Ercol. Overall an exceptional quality made piece of furniture in excellent display usable solid condition with lots of period vintage charm. Lots of storage space & if the mirror was removed it would make for a fabulous TV sideboard.

It's style & design is typical of it's period & would date nicely to the early 1960's. They were based in Letchworth Garden City in Hertfordshire.

Having started out in London Frederick Hard who was the owner brought some 50 families with him in 1914 to the new town of Letchworth. By 1938 they were employing 177 people, and Frederick's son John was in charge of engineering, so it was a priority at the time to keep costs under control. In around 1955/57 they took on their first staff designer a German émigré called Alphons Loebenstein aged 57 at the time, who persuaded the company to go down a route similar to G Plan. His name is given on some websites as designer of pieces in the Italian style, but Meredew themselves claimed that they had a known Italian designer doing some of their designs!
